It’s a great day for Reignwolf fans ! There is evidence of life.
The band posted on Facebook announcing fall US and Canada tour dates and hinted at music they have been putting together. It was like a beacon to many of their hardcore fans who have stayed the course, in hopes that they had not seen the last of Jordan Cook, the passionate force behind the wall of explosive guitar brilliance that is the stuff legends are made of – – – fire and fury. (Check out the formidable singles ‘In the Dark’ and ‘Are You Satisfied’ to get a flavor of the distortion- laden blues this guy can lay down).
Reignwolf have maintained a rather low profile conventionally, rolling across the country, gathering fans from their travels and live shows. That doesn’t mean they have not been on the music radar. Their resume’ includes a prestigious spot opening for Black Sabbath on their Canadian tour, playing at Sasquatch, Lollapalooza , and Voodoo Festival to name a few. All without a single proper album. In past interviews the band has discussed what they feel are the challenges of capturing the “essence” of their live music.
After releasing one track last year, ‘Hardcore’, fans looked to the release of a promised first full length album — then nothing. If their short-list arsenal of singles gives a peek into what might be coming next, no doubt we are all in for an incredible churching in the school of Reignwolf.

Just discovered this self-titled solo EP project from Skillet drummer, Jen Ledger.
Titled “Ledger”, the 6 track EP was released April 13 through Hear It Loud, a label imprint launched by Skillet frontman John Cooper and his wife. Ledger’s debut truly showcases the beauty and depth of her talents – delivering powerful rock to soft delicate vocals. Songwriting and lyrics are brilliantly constructed, both relevant and honest.
Looking forward to future releases from her solo project.

Texas Rockers Blacktop Mojo steal the spotlight with this cover of Aerosmith classic , “Dream On”. A monster of a song and vocal, but they nail it, with Matt James going toe to toe with Steven Tyler’s primal wails and screams. This cover led me to the band’s website and music – – – which is best described as a fiery blend of post-grunge, classic rock, and metal that falls somewhere between Soundgarden, Black Stone Cherry, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Be sure to check out their album “Burn the Ships” / March 2017 on Cuhmon Records.
To pay homage to all the guitarists I love and all their beautiful guitars I am starting a new post series of photographs called, “A Man and His Guitar . ”
We all know that artists have a special relationship with their guitars and my goal is to capture some unique shots of the artist that showcase their guitars. The first here is a picture of Britt Daniel of Spoon and Divine Fits with his Fender Telecaster Thinline .
